Trey McBride Has TE1 Overall Upside For Fantasy In 2024
Trey McBride had a true breakout last season after Zach Ertz was injured in week 7, opening the door for six top-seven finishes and two other top-12 finishes at his position over the last ten weeks of the season (TE1, TE2, TE11, TE7, TE3, TE3, TE12, TE7).
Over the last 10 weeks, he averaged 8.5 targets and 6.6 receptions per game. His full-season stats were 106 targets for 81 receptions, 825 yards (10.19 yards per reception), and only 3 touchdowns.
There is clearly a new alpha in Arizona's receiver room in Marvin Harrison Jr. Still, McBride should continue to be the number 2 option on a much-improved offense in 2024 with a healthy Kyler Murrary two years removed from injury.
Even with a reduced target share, McBride should see more red zone opportunities in 2024, meaning his lower touchdown total could rise and elevate him to an elite asset. It is not out of the question that McBride actually has his targets increased due to being fully involved for 17 weeks rather than just 10 weeks of heavy usage.
Our consensus projections for McBride in the 2024 season are 104 receptions, 1106 yards, and 6 touchdowns.
