Troy Franklin & Bo Nix Link Could Fuel Fantasy Value

The Denver Broncos drafted Troy Franklin with the 102nd pick overall in the 4th round of the NFL draft. Although he fell later in the NFL draft than most of the fantasy community though, Franklin’s landing spot is interesting in partnering up with Bo Nix again in Denver.

They had quite the chemistry at Oregon, where Franklin produced 160 receptions, 2483 yards (15.5 yards per reception), and 25 touchdowns, most of which came after Nix transferred in. The connection between Nix and Franklin is important because Bo may feel more comfortable throwing at him, and targets mean everything fantasy. The team has already traded away Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns.

The rest of the room (Josh Reynolds and Marvin Mims) is uninspiring, so even with Courtland in town, Franklin should see a decent target share. The connection with Nix may help him, but the offense itself is setting up to be a bottom-of-the-league unit.

Franklin has the tools and opportunity, but this season, the ceiling is limited based on how good we think the offense will be. If Payton somehow gets it moving in the right direction, Franklin could be a decent waiver wire to add to the redraft.

Our consensus projections for Franklin in the 2024 season are 59 receptions, 762 yards,  4 touchdowns.
