Vikings Acquire This Offensive Lineman Via Trade
Sometimes teams make a trade to fill a need due to injury or getting rid of a player that was benched/not happy. Both of those things happened in one trade. The Minnesota Vikings have acquired offensive tackle Cam Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars. The details of the trade are down below.
Cam Robinson Trade Details
Minnesota Vikings: OT Cam Robinson and a Conditional 2026 7th-Round Pick
Jacksonville Jaguars: A Conditional 2026 5th Round Pick
Conditions of the Picks:
The 7th Round Pick the Vikings get can go away depending on playing time
The 5th Round Pick the Jaguars Get Can Become a 4th Depending On Playing Time
Minnesota Vikings Side
The moment Christian Darrisaw went down with a season-ending injury, the Vikings were the favorites to acquire Cam Robinson. Their offense struggled, unable to protect QB Sam Darnold. The Vikings have a chance to be contenders, and giving up a conditional Day 3 pick for Robinson is worth it. It's not a surprise that the Vikings gave a pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, as they only have 5 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Jacksonville Jaguars Side
Nobody should be surprised that Cam Robinson was traded. His name has been on the trade market for a few weeks now, and he was pretty much done in Jacksonville the moment he was benched for Walker Little, in a game against the Green Bay Packers. He was visibly frustrated, and there was no sign he was going to sign a new contract with the Jaguars. The team decided to make him available at the deadline and they took the best offer that they got.
Grades For Cam Robinson Trade
Minnesota Vikings - A+
Jacksonville Jaguars - B-
The Vikings win this trade, no question. A day-three pick is solid value for Robinson, who immediately fills a hole left with Darrisaw's injury. As for Jacksonville, their hands were tied after that Packers game. It's clear that Walker Little was going to be the starter full time, and the Jags were going nowhere. It's just a shame that they couldn't get more value for him, but it was too little too late. At least the Jaguars got something for a player who is not in their long-term plans. Hopefully, this trade works out for everyone involved.
