Way Too Early Extravagant 2023 NFL Record Predictions

Last Thursday, the NFL 2023-24 schedule was finally released and there is a lot to be excited for. With the international games set and the schedule out, it is time to digest how each team could fare in 2023. In this brief preview of the 2023-24 National Football League season, the projected record will be posted along with a one-sentence description.

American Football Conference

In the AFC features defending champions Kansas City Chiefs, the uprising Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers, Super Bowl contenders Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills, along with many other talented rosters in this loaded conference.

AFC North

Cincinnati Bengals (12-5)

Despite a tough division, Cincinnati prevails as they look to compete for the AFC crown.

Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7)

The development of Kenny Pickett should boost Pittsburgh back into the NFL playoffs.

Baltimore Ravens (9-8)

Lamar Jackson earned himself a new receiver in OBJ and a big payday, but will the Ravens fall short of the postseason?

Cleveland Browns (9-8)

Cleveland has seen many, many losing seasons over the past three decades, but an above .500 record could be a solid base for becoming contenders in the AFC.

AFC South

Jacksonville Jaguars (9-8)

Duuval County has a lot to be excited for in Jacksonville as the Jaguars could take the division back-to-back.

Tennessee Titans (8-9)

How long will Ryan Tannehill be under center, and will the season be a win if Will Levis shows flashes?

Indianapolis Colts (6-11)

Anthony Richardson was drafted fourth overall and still needs developing, but the Colts could see a lot of potential during the season.

Houston Texans (6-11)

It’s C.J. Stroud’s team in Houston as he and fellow first-round pick Will Anderson Jr will look to turn around the DeMeco Ryans-led Texans.

AFC East

Buffalo Bills (11-6)

Buffalo wins a three-way tie in the AFC East as they compete with some of the NFL’s best.

Miami Dolphins (11-6)

Miami is going all-in after trading for superstar Jalen Ramsey and could be a dark-horse Super Bowl NFL contender.

New York Jets (11-6)

With Aaron Rodgers in town, Gang Green has the most to be excited about since Super Bowl III.

New England Patriots (8-9)

The Patriots will look to bolster a top-five defense this season, but will the offense be enough to keep them in the playoff hunt?

AFC West

Kansas City Chiefs (13-4)

The defending champions look to be the first back-to-back champions in nearly over two decades.

Los Angeles Chargers (9-8)

After blowing a 27-0 lead in the wildcard, Herbert and the Chargers will look to keep the thunder alive and avenge their embarrassing season’s end.

Denver Broncos (6-11)

After a terrible first year under Russell Wilson, the Broncos could once against struggle in the NFL’s best conference.

Las Vegas Raiders (6-11)

Las Vegas signed Jimmy G in the offseason, but will he prove that he can succeed outside of San Francisco?

National Football Conference

Featuring the Super Bowl runner-up Philadelphia Eagles, the star-studded Dallas Cowboys, and the most complete roster in San Francisco 49ers, the NFC has a lot to look forward to.

NFC North

Detroit Lions (10-7)

Detroit hasn’t won a division title in a very long time, but maybe the time has come to end that drought.

Minnesota Vikings (10-7)

After winning 13 games in 2023, a first-place schedule could send the Vikings down the division.

Green Bay Packers (8-9)

It’s Jordan Love’s team now in Green Bay as one of the NFL’s youngest rosters looks to rebuild for the first time since 2008.

Chicago Bears (6-11)

Some see the Bears as a wildcard team and quarterback Justin Fields as an MVP candidate, but this team only one three games a year ago.

NFC South

New Orleans Saints (9-8)

New Orleans’ has a brand new Carr as they look to drive into the postseason.

Carolina Panthers (7-10)

Bryce Young is now in town as it will be an adjusting season in Charlotte.

Atlanta Falcons (7-10)

Many questions to be answered in the ATL from Ridder’s development to how much the defense improved.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-12)

Tom Brady is retired and Tampa Bay brought in Baker Mayfield to lead the ship.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys (11-6)

There has not been a repeat division winner in decades as Dallas looks to keep the trend going.

Philadelphia Eagles (11-6)

The most talented team in the NFC has to face one of the hardest schedules in the league.

New York Giants (9-8)

Danny earned a lot of Dimes as New York looks for a second straight postseason birth.

Washington Commanders (5-12)

New owner and new starting quarterback as the Commanders will find out if Howell is the answer, or their franchise quarterback could be in the 2024 NFL Draft.

NFC West

San Francisco 49ers (12-5)

No matter who is starting at quarterback, the 49ers have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL.

Seattle Seahawks (9-8)

Geno Smith is locked in for the season as the Seahawks look to return again to the NFL playoffs.

Los Angeles Rams (6-11)

After an injury-plaged season, can the Rams get back to their winning ways and a return to the NFL playoffs?

Arizona Cardinals (4-13)

With Kyler Murray expected to be out to start the season, the Cardinals could be picking first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The 2023-24 NFL Season kicks off on Thursday, September 7th as the Kansas City Chiefs, defending champions of the NFL, host the uprising Detroit Lions in an epic clash for the first time in four years.

The rest of the season kickoffs Sunday, September 10th with many games at 1pm and 4pm as well as Sunday Night Football’s anticipated matchup featuring the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. Football season is almost here!
