Week Six Bold Predictions: Cowboys V.S. Eagles

Bold predictions did not hit off last week. Rather than a shootout, the teams did not hit the endzone too often. Luckily, Cameron Dicker had a tremendous game, including a game-winning field goal. Dicker kept the NFC award streak alive for Philadelphia with the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. With the Dallas Cowboys (4-1) coming into the city, the bold predictions have to be as high as possible.

Bold Predictions Part One: Texas Kid Gets His First Win

Jalen Hurts is 0-2 against the Cowboys in his career. Arguably his two worst games as a professional have come against Dallas. However, the Cowboys are coming into Philadelphia for the first time in the Hurts era. Growing up in Texas, Hurts was a Cowboys fan growing up but he is all Eagles now. Hurts has a passer rating of 78.9 with 677 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions in three games against the Cowboys in his career. The bold predictions for Hurts are he totals three touchdowns and 350+ all-purpose yards. Hurts will match his total of the past two games and not turn the ball over against this stout Dallas Defense.

Jalen Hurts’ stat line: 22/34, 309 passing yards, 56 rushing yards, two passing touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown.

Bold Predictions Part Two: Jordan Davis Break Out

Jordan Davis has consistently performed better every week. This week, Davis will wreak havoc in the Dallas backfield. Davis will record five tackles, all of them being solo and that would make two career highs in his young career. Davis will also get his first two sacks of his career. One of those will be a strip-sack on Cooper Rush to swing the momentum to Philadelphia late in the game.

With this performance, he will land the Eagles another NFC weekly award with Defensive Player of the Week.

Bold Predictions Part Three: BIG 10 Backs Show Out

Ezekiel Elliot and Miles Sanders are the premiere backs on their respective teams but split time with their talented backups. Not this week though. The former Ohio State Buckeye will get 18 carries for 131 yards and two scores. Sanders will represent Penn State with 17 carries for 121 yards.

Final Thoughts

This is actually the biggest challenge for Philadelphia this season. The Dallas defense is one of the best and they stand at 4-1. If the Eagles can get to 6-0 heading into the bye week, that makes for great confidence throughout the team.
