What Happened Between Jets' Legends Darrelle Revis & Joe Klecko?
On Monday, New York Jets legend Joe Klecko joined the Jake Asman Show to discuss his upcoming Hall of Fame induction and more. “More” is the keyword since it turns out during his interview, Klecko managed to upset another Jets legend, Darrelle Revis.
Revis will also be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame alongside Klecko later this summer. When telling a story about when the two were being interviewed at this year's Super Bowl, Klecko started off by saying that Revis “doesn’t say a whole lot.” Klecko then expressed how much he appreciated a comment that Revis made at that time when he had said, “It’s really cool that Joe and I, who are the two best defensive players to ever play for the Jets, are coming in together.”
Now this doesn’t seem like a comment to get offended by but Revis responded with the tweet below, so clearly there must be more to the story:
On Wednesday, Jake Asman was able to book Darrelle Revis for an exclusive interview in order to share his side of the story. Revis called it a miscommunication and basically said that Klecko reached out via text but he could not respond the way he wanted to. This led to Darrelle taking Joe’s words about him “not saying much,” as Klecko calling him out for not being responsive.
In the meantime, the Jets have announced the dates for when they will be opening up training camp to the public and after this, I'm sure Jets fans can’t wait for the season to start. Revis went on to say that this can all be resolved and that he looks forward to celebrating on Hall of Fame weekend. This Jets offseason has been one to remember but it was only a matter of time before a typical “Jets” story came about. Luckily the “feud” between Klecko and Revis has already left as quickly as it had arrived.
