Six NFL Players Who Could Be The Madden 25 Cover Athlete
With EA Sports' College Football 25 becoming the talk around the football community, let's not forget about Madden 25. EA Sports announced that it would reveal the annual cover athlete for Madden 25 on Tuesday, June 11th. While we await the official announcement from EA Sports, let's look at some contenders who could grace the cover of Madden 25.
6) Aaron Donald
The last defensive player to appear on the cover of Madden was Richard Sherman back in 2015. It's about time to feature another defensive superstar on the cover, and the perfect choice would be the recently retired Aaron Donald. Donald is undoubtedly the most outstanding defensive player of the modern era and a lock for the Hall of Fame.
5) Justin Jefferson
The NFL's top wide receiver could be in consideration for the Madden 25 cover athlete. Jefferson recently received a massive extension, making him the league's highest-paid wide receiver and the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. Jefferson is arguably the NFL's most famous athlete and would sell Madden 25 based on his name alone.
4) Christian McCaffrey
Christian McCaffrey is the kind of player Madden would want on its cover. He is the top running back on one of the NFL's best teams and is coming off an Offensive Player of the Year campaign. He is also highly marketable from a business perspective, as he is a prominent figure in the game and a fan favorite in fantasy football and betting.
3) Jason Kelce
This is a little more out of left field, but when I was thinking of names, Jason Kelce immediately stood out. With his recent retirement, there is no better way to honor his career than making him the first offensive lineman to appear on the cover of Madden. He is universally loved by Eagles fans and NFL fans and is someone that everyone would be happy seeing on the cover.
2) C.J. Stroud
With four of the last five cover athletes being quarterbacks, it's not far-fetched that we see C.J. Stroud dawn the cover of Madden 25. The former No.2 pick is coming off one of the best rookie seasons in NFL history. In his first season, Stroud won the AFC South and became the youngest quarterback to win a playoff game, beating the Cleveland Browns during Super Wild Card weekend. The Texans look set for years to come, and Stroud's ascension in the NFL makes him a viable candidate for the Madden 25 cover athlete.
1) Travis Kelce
This seems like the most logical choice. No player has been in the spotlight more over the past year than Travis Kelce. He is one of the greatest tight ends ever to play the game, has won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs, and is in a relationship with one of the world's most famous artists, Taylor Swift.
