Why Do People Think Ezekiel Elliot Is Washed For Fantasy
Ezekiel Elliot spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots, signing with them from the Dallas Cowboys. While his 3.49 rushing yards per carry average was the lowest of his career, he still managed to contribute with 184 carries for 642 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, He also had 65 targets catching 51 passes for 313 yards (6.14 yards per reception, his highest since 2020) and 2 touchdowns.
Once Rhamondre Stevenson got hurt in Week 13, he averaged 16.8 fantasy points a game on an awful offense. He'll be back in a Dallas uniform in 2024 after signing a new one-year contract for 2 million.
Elliott will be reunited with Rico Dowdle and introduced to Deuce Vaughn, now a second-year back. Dowdle didn't see the field when Elliott was on the team, and Deuce’s minimal work as a rookie isn't too threatening for Elliot's 2024 usage.
Many expected Dallas to draft a running back, but they didn't take anyone. Management trusts this backfield's current state, which is encouraging for all three backs in this offense. Zeke should have a huge workload on a great offense, and he is criminally undervalued for fantasy in all formats this season.
Our consensus projections for Elliott in the 2024 season are 178 carries for 794 yards and 7 touchdowns. In the receiving game, his consensus projection is 40 receptions for 217 yards and 3 touchdowns.
