Why Frank Gore Jr Shouldn't Be Overlooked In The NFL Draft

The 2024 National Football League Draft is nearly here as many standout college athletes await to hear their names called in under two months. The NFL Draft, which takes place from April 25th through April 27th at Campus Martius Park and Hart Plaza in Detroit, is one of the most exciting days in sports.

Over 250 prospects will be drafted into the league starting with the first-overall selection, which belongs to the Chicago Bears via trade with the Carolina Panthers. There are so many big names entering the draft such as USC quarterback Caleb Williams, Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, and Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold. But don't sleep on this 2024 NFL Draft prospect.

Frank Gore Jr Could Be The Steal Of The Draft

Have you ever heard of Frank Gore? Well, the future Hall-Of-Famer has a son and he is draft-eligible and ready to take over the National Football League. While Frank Gore Jr is not as highly ranked as another Hall-Of-Famer's son, Marvin Harrison Jr, he has all the tools to be a starting running back in the NFL. Gore Jr played four years for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, passing up bigger offers to stay loyal to his school.

With the Golden Eagles, Gore Jr rushed for 3,927 yards and 25 touchdowns over 46 games including 1,382 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. He had a stellar game against the University of Louisiana Monroe. He had a career-best and FBS bowl-record 329 rushing yards later that season in the LendingTree Bowl. The 21-year-old could be a major steal in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Gore Jr Is A Triple-Threat Weapon

In the receiving game, Gore Jr added 633 receiving yards and four touchdowns including a 51-yard receiving touchdown in 2022 against the University of Texas at San Antonio. But what is more impressive is his passing.

He played a little bit of quarterback during his time at Southern Miss throwing 33 passes and completing 17 of them. He threw for 368 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Could Gore Jr follow in the footsteps of Derrick Henry, another running back known for his clutch passes especially in the postseason?

While his father was a third-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2005, Gore Jr is projected to be a fifth or sixth-round pick but could go higher if he impresses before the draft. Some teams like the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, or Los Angeles Chargers could be interested.

While the 49ers drafting their legendary running back's son would be awesome, the team has MVP candidate Christian McCaffery so Gore Jr would not be competing for a starting role anytime soon, unfortunately. Where do you think Frank Gore Jr will be drafted?
