Why The Boston Celtics Need To Build A Statue Of This NBA Executive

It is done. The Boston Celtics are once again NBA Champions. They defeated the Dallas Mavericks and have now won the series 4-1. With this win, it is often that NBA teams build a statue of every NBA final win and the Celtics should do it for this one. The person that Celtics should build a statue of a certain member of the NBA.

No, I am not talking about a statue being built on Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown. Not one of Joe Mazzulla, one of the rare, good coaches in the NBA. Not Porzingis who managed to play the final game of this series on one leg. Not Al Horford who finally got his NBA ring. Not even Danny Ainge, who helped contribute to the Celtics originally.

The legend who needs a statue built in Boston as a result of this NBA finals is former Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King.

This would not have happened if he had not made the move to trade the entire Nets' future to Boston in exchange for Kevin Garnet, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry. The unprotected picks utilized turned into Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They are two of the main pieces on this Celtics squad. Just look at the trade below.

Billy King is a made man of his actions in the Boston Celtics History. The Boston Celtics would not have gotten this NBA Championship if it weren't for him. He needs to be recognized as the hidden figure behind the Boston Celtics' success in the present and potentially the future. This Celtics squad has the potential to be a dynasty.

Billy King deserves his recognition for helping the Celtics get to this point and they need to honor him by building a statue of him. Heck maybe even gift him a special NBA Ring for his efforts in helping the team. I did say that the biggest losers in the NBA Finals this year was going to be the Brooklyn Nets.

As for the Celtics, Congratulations on winning their 18th Championship. They deserved this, as they dominated all season and in the playoffs. I am also glad that Al Horford finally got his NBA ring as he in my opinion was one of the best NBA players in his late 30's to never get a ring. Well, now he has one.
