Will This Ravens All-Pro Rejuvenate The Offense In 2022?

When will we see the return of Ronnie Stanley in this Ravens offense? One of the biggest mysteries for all Ravens and NFL fans this off-season. Lamar Jackson and this offense have been missing the anchor of this line, and it shows. All eyes are on week one.

It seems like just yesterday when Ronnie Stanley received All-pro honors and signed his big deal with the Ravens franchise. Not too long after was when the devastating ankle injury happened, and two seasons afterward of wondering how he would recover and get back on the field.

As we all know, as Ravens fans, our offensive line play has been brutal the last couple of seasons. The retirement of the former All-Pro right guard, Marshal Yanda, was a surprise to most fans at the beginning of the 2020 offseason. The Ravens were coming off a historical season in 2019 and looking to rebound from a playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans. That news was the first hit to the team’s offensive line. I can admit I was happy for Yanda, but I wasn’t aware of the effect of his retirement and what it would do for our offense. The 2019 season was magical. Can we get back to bully ball? I believe Stanley is the key.

Stanley Should Be Key For The Ravens Offense In 2022

Stanley was recently taken off of the PUP list and activated to the active roster. This is the news we have all been waiting for Stanley. When he’s healthy Stanley has proven to be an anchor on the line and reliable. There is no doubt that Stanley is very talented and should help bring back a stable offensive line. In 2019 it showed that when and if we can protect Lamar big things happen on the field.

In the next few weeks, the team will have to monitor how the Ravens get Stanley acclimated. He hasn’t played in almost two years so naturally there should be some rust from the time off. Leg and foot injuries can be tricky, especially for linemen because that’s how they create leverage while blocking. I trust Stanley will be fully healthy when called upon. To be honest it brings a big morale boost just knowing he will be out there.

All signs point to the All-Pro being back sooner than later. There have been recent reports that he has returned to practice and looks solid. The recent 53-man roster reveal shows the confidence in the Ravens staff that Stanley will be healthy. With a new revamped offensive line, here’s to a healthy season. I’m looking forward to monitoring this unit in the coming weeks. The success of this offensive line may make or break how fluid our offense plays. As stated, when Lamar has protection this offense can be very explosive and Stanley is the key.
