WNBA Star Joins Growing List Of Players With Signature Shoe

Another WNBA player is set to receive her own signature shoe, a testament to the growing popularity of women’s basketball over the past year.

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has signed a multi-year endorsement contract extension with Reebok, according to ESPN league insider Shams Charania.

The contract includes a signature shoe expected to be released in 2026, making Reese one of only six active WNBA players with a signature shoe deal.

The 23-year-old joins Breanna Stewart (Puma) and Sabrina Ionescu (Nike) from the newly-crowned WNBA champions New York Liberty, reigning WNBA Most Valuable Player A'ja Wilson (Nike), and Sydney Colson (Creative Control) of the Las Vegas Aces, and 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark (Nike) of the Indiana Fever.

"Reebok and Angel are growing together every day and our visions for the future are aligned. We're excited to continue the relationship with a ground-up build of her signature silhouette," Reebok's head of basketball Jide Osifeso said.

Reese initially signed an NIL endorsement deal with Reebok in October 2023, before her final season at LSU.

Angel Reese's Historic Rookie Season

Reese had a stellar debut campaign in the WNBA after being selected by the Sky as the seventh overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft.

The former LSU Tigers star set the record for the longest double-double streak in WNBA history with 15 consecutive games and set a league record with an average of 13.1 rebounds per game in 2024.

However, the 6-foot-3 forward's rookie season ended prematurely after playing in 34 of the 38 regular-season games due to a fractured wrist.

The Maryland native ended her debut WNBA season with averages of 13.6 points, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. She also shot 39.1 percent from the field, 18.8 percent from three-point range, and 73.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Reese ultimately finished second to Fever star Caitlin Clark in the Rookie of the Year voting, preventing a unanimous win for Clark by receiving a single vote.
