WWE Releases 3 Wrestlers (November 2024)

Crown Jewel 2024 just concluded, and it was a solid show. However, before that show occurred, there was some bad news, some WWE wrestlers are now out of a job. It's extremely difficult hearing this news, but WWE is a business, and they have to make the tough decision sometimes. In this round of cuts, three wrestlers have been named.

1. Tegan Nox

WWE

What was the whole point of bringing her back to the company? No offense to Nox, but I can't remember what she did in her second tenure with WWE. Her released should not be a surprise to anyone and it just sucks. She has had so much bad luck with her injury history. When Nox did get healthy, her character just did not work with the audience. It's been months since she last appeared on TV on the main roster or NXT. Her being let go from WWE could be a great opportunity for her because she was going nowhere. Out of all the promotions, Tegan Nox going to TNA makes the most sense, as that company needs more female talent, with Jordynne Grace leaving.

2. Indi Hartwell

WWE

This was the weirdest release in this batch of cuts, mainly because on the day of the announcement. Hartwell had a TV match on Smackdown. While Smackdown's show was taped, thanks to Sweet Saudi Money (Crown Jewel 2024 PPV) occurring the next day, it was still weird watching the match, and then checking the internet to see if she was released.

Indi Hartwell's career was in trouble when she got selected to Raw during the 2023 WWE Draft. She was the NXT Women's Champion at the time, and had to drop the title as a result, in the lamest way. The worst part, was WWE had no plans for her on the main roster. They tried to pair her with Candice LeRae in a tag team, but it just did not work out. We should have seen it coming the moment Candice LeRae was involved in a weird alliance with Nia Jax, that never went anywhere.

As for where she goes next, she will fit well in the Independent Circuit. I can see her and Matt Cardona working on a program together. If there is one company that could sign her full time, again TNA makes the most sense, as there going to lose a ton of women talent. Hartwell would fit well in that company.

3. Baron Corbin

WWE

Corbin's case wasn't a release, but his contract was expiring, and WWE chose not to renew it. Honestly, it's stunning he lasted as long as he did with WWE. His character was garbage the moment they went away from the Lone Wolf gimmick. They tried so many other gimmicks with Corbin, including Constable Corbin, Happy Corbin, King Corbin, etc. All of them, post Lone Wolf Corbin, were awful. WWE tried attaching JBL to Corbin, which was a colossal failure. The only other gimmick where they had something, was the Sad Corbin gimmick, but that only lasted one month.

WWE threw the kitchen sink to get Corbin over, but it just did not work. They sent him back down to NXT, and he was solid there. His tag team with Bronn Breakker was fun and some of those matches were impressive to watch. It was the best he was portrayed in many years.

Then Cobin got brought back up to Smackdown, and immediately lost to Carmelo Hayes in a King of the Ring Tournament match. He was on WWE Speed and then put him in a tag team with Apollo Crews that went nowhere. On a side note, how the hell has Apollo Crews lasted as long as he has in WWE? Excluding the Nigerian Royalty gimmick, I can't remember the last noticeable thing he has done in WWE.

Corbin lasted 12 years in WWE, and it's a shame how misused he was with the company. I was a big fan of Corbin with the Lone Wolf gimmick, and was jumping for joy when he won money in the bank. It is just a shame how underutilized he was. As for where Corbin goes from here, I honestly don't know. Many say he could go to AEW, but don't be 100% confident, as remember he had previous comments trashing the independent scene, and AEW especially. Who knows if he will continue to do pro wrestling, but if he does, I think Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling or the National Wrestling Alliance would be an interesting destination for him.

Wish Them Well In There Future Endeavors

WWE

No matter who the wrestler is, it just sucks that they lost their jobs with the WWE. Those who cheer for these departures need to look themselves in the mirror. I wish Tegan Nox, Indi Hartwell, and Baron Corbin the best in what they do next, whether in professional wrestling or not.
