WWE Superstar Make History On Monday Night Raw.

This past Monday on WWE Raw "Main Event" Jey Uso made history winning his first-ever singles championship in WWE. Uso was previously known for being an eight-time WWE tag team champion with his twin brother Jimmy Uso. Among these eight reigns includes a 622-day reign which stands as the longest tag title reign in the company's history.

In the main event, Jey Uso was set to take on a future pillar of the company, and the reigning Intercontinental Champion. Breakker had been on a war path since being drafted to Raw in April. Defeating the likes of Ilja Dragunov to become the number one contender and Sami Zayn to eventually win his first main roster championship. Bron's reign was a short one, but losing to Jey Uso in the moment he did, and the way he lost is nothing to shake your head at.

Since breaking apart from his family and the Bloodline story Jey has been on a singles run that has not been matched by a superstar without a title in a very long time. Suffering through family betrayal time and time again, or just having to deal with his own losses. Jey's solo run started off hot winning the tag titles yet again, but not with his brother Jimmy, but rather a new and seemingly unlikely friend in Cody Rhodes. These two won the tag titles at the PLE Fastlane last year which gave us one of the greatest press conference interviews WWE has ever seen. see below.

After losing the belts Jey began his journey searching for singles gold for the very first time. Along the way, he had a chance against Damien Priest for the world heavyweight championship in France at Backlash. He also became a fan favorite, and stand-out in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

A grueling 12-man tournament stood in the way of Jey Uso's dream of singles gold in WWE. This tournament featured two former Intercontinental Champions; Kofi Kingston and The Miz, WWE legend and future Hall of Famer Sheamus is among a star-studded list of potential number-one contenders. Uso won the opening triple-threat against Kofi Kingston and Karion Kross. After defeating Pete Dunne in a one-on-one competition Jey Uso was set to face future star Ilja Dragunov for a chance to take on Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.

Main Event Jey Uso would show the WWE exactly why he earned that name. It was a thrilling match from start to finish, and Jey looked like someone ready to win a championship. Dragunov was also impressive in this match having several good opportunities to get the victory but ultimately did not have enough in the tank to put away Uso.

In yet another Main Event on Monday Night Raw Jey Uso found his name on the marquee. He was set to face the Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker. Most of the WWE universe saw this match only going one way. Jey Uso has a great performance, but yet again falls short of the big one to put over another superstar. That was not on that night. That night belonged solely to Jey Uso.

For over a decade, Jey has been on the roster performing at a high-level winning championship after championship with his brother, even becoming the longest reigning tag team champions of all time. There aren't many people inside the WWE locker room more deserving of this moment than Jey Uso. He has paid more than his fair share of dues over his decorated 14-year career, and to have a moment like that one what is labeled as the flagship show of the company Every fan should be happy for Jey Uso.

Shake's Take:

I have been a wrestling fan since 2005, and there are not too many things that happen on a week to week basis that surprise me anymore. This past Monday I was in complete shock when the officials hand hit the mat for a third, time and Jey Uso had become the new Intercontinental Champion.

Immediately on Twitter, I began to see tweets of fans upset by the fact that Bron Breakker only held the title for 51 days, and this was going to hinder Breakker going forward. This loss will not have major long-term effects for Breakker. He is a bona fide stud who is impressive in the ring and continues to improve on the mic every week. Jey Uso had to dish out every move in his arsenal to beat Breakker. In no way does Bron look weak. He will come back and continue to dominate. This match and moment is not about the good or bad for Breakker, rather, a moment in wrestling history that is long overdue and will not be forgotten any time soon.
