Zamir White Can Make Or Break A Fantasy Season In 2024
Zamir White will be entering his third season in the NFL. In his first two seasons, he wasn’t given many opportunities until Week 15 in 2023 due to Josh Jacobs' injury. Jacobs will no longer be with the Raiders, and White is now expected to have a much larger workload.
In the four weeks that he was given many opportunities, White looked very efficient on the ground. During that span, he had 74 carries for 397 yards (5.36 average) while also adding 9 receptions for 60 yards. The Raiders did add some help to the backfield by signing Alexander Mattison and drafting Dylan Laube in the sixth round.
Neither RB seems like they will take a notable amount of touches away from White in the running game, but even if they do, Head Coach Antonio Pierce has made it known that the team will run the ball a lot. This could, however, not always be the case, as the Raiders might find themselves in situations where they must focus on the passing game instead.
Mattison is the more proven receiver, so if the Raiders have a passing attack any week, Mattison may see the field a little more. White should serve well as an RB3 this season but is not the safest option for that role.
Our consensus projections for White in the 2024 season are 259 carries for 972 yards and 6 touchdowns. In the receiving game, his consensus projection is 33 receptions for 223 yards and 1 touchdown.
