In a brand new live event, Formula One (F1) revealed all ten team’s cars in the upcoming 2025 season. The event was held in the O2 arena in London, and each F1 team had their own time on stage to reveal and discuss their new cars. Both drivers and the team principals were on stage for each team, with fans getting a first live view of Lewis Hamilton with Ferrari as well as other drivers on new teams. The event was held in part to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula One, and a new way to kick off a new season of the pinnacle of motor racing.
Teams Making The Biggest Changes
While some teams chose to make only minimal changes to this season’s car compared to those from last year, others made major changes. Of those, Racing Bulls/RB (formerly Alpha Tauri) showcased a brand-new majority-white design, in stark contrast to their 2024 car. Though it more closely resembles Red Bull Racing’s consistent car design, RB being pretty much their junior team doesn’t make it as surprising. RB made the biggest change out of any of the ten teams on the grid, but it looks like the risk paid off, and the car should stand out on the track this season.

In following the white theme, Ferrari also made some of the biggest changes to their car for this year. They added a few large HP logos, their new title sponsor being featured multiple times on the design. The most-storied and most-winning team in F1 history doesn’t usually stray far from tradition, but their car this year represents the start of a new era with Hamilton joining the team. During Ferrari’s time on stage, Hamilton expressed his excitement about joining the team, saying he looked forward to winning in red. He’ll be paired up with Charles Leclerc, and both of the two drivers have hopes of taking the driver’s championship.
“The word that I am thinking of is invigorated because I feel so full and life and so full of energy because everything is new,” Hamilton said. “Just focused on what’s up ahead. I’m so proud to be part of the team, so new and exciting for me.”

Teams Making A Few Changes
Mercedes is entering a new era, but their car looks like a combination of those over the past few years. Fans have continually expressed their love for the all-black design, but the German manufacturer just can’t seem to commit to it. Their design for the 2025 season is mostly silver and black, with hints of their famous ‘Petronas Green’. It will be the first season since 2013 that Mercedes will be without Lewis Hamilton, with Kimi Antonelli joining forces with George Russell this year.

Sauber, also known as Stake, made a few changes as well. They switched their primary color to bright green before the start of last year in partnership with Stake, and they continued that theme this year. Their 2025 car features a green nose that slowly fades to black, which is sure to stand out on track. It is the last year of the partnership with Stake, so this could be the last season that there is a bright green car in the F1 paddock.
Similarly, Alpine made small changes in terms of color schemes, but all around their 2025 car looks similar to last year’s. They used more pink in this year’s livery compared to those in the past and also added more pink to their driver’s race suits.

Teams That Made Minimal Changes
Red Bull and McLaren both kept somewhat of the same designs from last year. Red Bull famously does not take any big leaps in terms of car design, as their F1 livery has looked nearly the same since they entered the sport more than 20 years ago. McLaren won the constructor’s title last year, and they also didn’t make any major changes to what was a winning design last year. Their livery still features the ‘papaya orange’ it just looks a bit glossier compared to last year.

Williams, Haas, and Aston Martin each made a few changes as well. Williams has a new title sponsor, and their car features a bit more blue than last year, but overall not that many changes. Same thing with Haas, keeping the white, black, and red color scheme, just mixing it up a bit. Aston Martin’s 2025 livery looks just about identical to that from 2024, keeping the ‘British Racing Green’ color that just about everybody seems to love.
History evolves. A legacy continues.

End Of My F1 2025 Car Reveal Rant
Though there wasn’t anything that popped off the screen or looked to be game changing, it was great to see the new liveries from each team for the upcoming season. It was the first time that Liberty Media and Formula One held an event like this, and it seemed to go over pretty well. It hasn’t been announced if an event like this will continue in the future, but seeing 20,000 people showing up to the 02 arena for just car reveals is a good sign.
The 2025 F1 season is around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most competitive year’s in recent memory. The grid also has some of the most changes in terms of new driver and car pairings, with a total of nine drivers racing on new teams. This season will also feature six rookies, just one less than the record amount of new drivers set in 2001.

Lewis joining Ferrari is obviously going to dominate headlines for the entire season, as pairing the most-winning driver with the most-winning team will have the attention of many. Lando Norris’ and his success this season will also be under major scrutiny, with questions being asked, and potentially answered, if he can finally challenge Max Verstappen to win the driver’s title. Verstappen will also be interesting to keep an eye out on, as there’s been rumors that this year could be his last with Red Bull. All nine other teams around the paddock will be ready to jump at the opportunity to sign the four-time champion, if he does choose to leave Red Bull Racing.
The first time seeing these cars on track will be at preseason testing from Feb. 26 to 28 at the Bahrain International Circuit. The first race of the 2025 F1 season comes on March 16 in Melbourne, for the Australian Grand Prix.
