Manchester United’s current status seems to be going from bad to worse. The latest misfortune is how the players feel frustrated by Ruben Amorim’s comments.
Things at Manchester United aren’t going well. In addition to the bad results, the financial crisis has caused many job cuts. United’s boss, Ruben Amorim’s comments on the matter have only angered the players.
Why Are Manchester United Players Angry At Amorim?
It’s no secret that Manchester United has been struggling on and off the field. Their bad results have negatively affected their financial situation, encouraging the owners to make extensive job cuts.
To make matters worse, Amorim made comments earlier this month that seem to blame the players. He said that the team’s poor performance is behind the financial situation.
According to The Sun, Manchester United’s players were furious with such comments.
Trouble At Manchester United
If one thought that Manchester United’s boss and the players weren’t getting along, they would have to face the fact that things were only getting worse. The source said:
“If you went into Carrington, you would think the players and Amorim are getting on great. But the truth is the players are frustrated for being blamed for the financial problems of the club.”
Players Can’t Object
The source also clarified that some players feel like they can’t speak up around Amorim. This rift seems to be getting worse.
“They haven’t challenged the manager as they haven’t yet formed a bond with him. He is clear in what he wants from them on the pitch, and they are trying to implement it. But while some of them are fully behind his tactics, they feel that they cannot speak up as Amorim is steadfast in what he wants. They are doing what they are told, whether they think it’s right or not…the players feel like they can’t show any displeasure or it will become a problem.”
Ruben Amorim Needs To Change His Plans
It’s clear to everyone that Amorim’s plans haven’t worked with Manchester United so far. Bruno Fernandes believes that as well. He said to TNT Sports:
“Me and H [Harry Maguire] have been here for a while already, so we know that we have to stick to what we’ve been trying to do in training [and] what we’re supposed to do. It could be that you could feel in moments that it’s not working, but for some reason, the manager wants us to do that – and if he wants us to do that… [the coaches] watch so many games, they prepare themselves [for our matches].”
Fernandes also believes that the team needs to be confident. “As I said, we need to have more confidence [and] be more brave to show our character and our qualities,” he said.
Amorim Shouldn’t Have Blamed The Players
Amorim was wrong when he made his comments. As Fernandes said, Manchester United players need to have more confidence. How could they have it when their own manager blames them for people losing their jobs?
Amorim has been sincere in his comments, but sometimes managers need to choose to support their team instead of being harsh. His policy of honesty doesn’t seem to be working well for him.
End Of My Manchester United Rant
Manchester United’s struggles won’t end anytime soon if the players can’t get along with Amorim. It’s probably time for the manager to change his policy.
