The Sacramento Kings are reportedly exploring trade options for their star point guard, De’Aaron Fox, ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Despite Fox’s impressive performance this season, averaging 25.2 points, 6.2 assists, and five rebounds, the Kings are evaluating their future direction after a coaching change.
The Spurs would get an All-Star-level talent to put next to center Victor Wembanyama and to be a cornerstone of the franchise as their solidified point guard of the future. He could be the missing piece in San Antonio alongside Victor Wembanyama to make them a sustainable title threat in the Western Conference for years to come.
Fox played college basketball at Kentucky with Heat center Bam Adebayo which could play a pivotal role in his decision. The Miami Heat have a championship pedigree and a winning culture that could persuade Fox to commit long-term.
The Nets view De’Aaron Fox as a trade target, and they have significant trade assets to use to acquire a player of Fox’s caliber. They have a clear path to a quick rebuild with a high pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Former Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez is the head coach, and they have a young core that fits his timeline because Fox is 27 years old.
The Orlando Magic are being considered a potential sleeper team in their pursuit of De’Aaron Fox as the trade deadline approaches. The organization possesses a suitable combination of players, prospects, and draft picks that would enable them to formulate a highly competitive offer.
