The entire world was rooting for The Washington Commanders and Buffalo Bills to meet in Super Bowl 59, but the NFL had something different in mind. Instead of the game everybody wanted, NFL fans everywhere are preparing for a Super Bowl 57 rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Super Bowl 59 will be the last chance for sports bettors to bet on meaningful football until September.
5. DeVonta Smith 50+ Receiving Yards (-120)
Nobody in the playoffs is more due than DeVonta Smith. His receiving yards line is set at 51.5 for Super Bowl 59 and he hasn’t eclipsed that mark since the Wildcard round against the Packers. In that game, he caught all four of his targets for 55 yards. He hasn’t found the endzone yet this postseason either. With all eyes on AJ Brown, Smith will look to take advantage of a Chiefs defense that allows 141.8 yards per game to receivers this season.
In Super Bowl 57, Smith lit the Chiefs up. He caught seven passes for 100 yards in the 38-35 loss to Kansas City. In his fourth year in the NFL, Smith will get to play in his second Super Bowl. The Eagles will be looking for revenge. With all eyes on Brown, Saquon Barkley, and Jalen Hurts, Smith could get a chance to take some bites out of the Kansas City defense.
4. Travis Kelce 50+ Receiving Yards (-190)
When things get sticky, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes looks for his best friend, Travis Kelce. Until they give the world a reason not to, it’s silly to not expect the dynamic duo to come out on top. Kelce’s receiving yards line is set at 60.5, but for the price, this buydown is worth it. He didn’t hit this line in the AFC Championship Game against Buffalo, posting just two catches for 19 yards. Kelce will be hungry on Super Bowl Sunday.
In Super Bowl 57, Kelce caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. With the way that Chiefs receivers Zavier Worthy and Marquise Brown can stretch the field, the Eagles will have a choice to make. They can let Worthy and Brown take the top off or let Kelce eat them alive. With the Eagles’ strong secondary, the second option appears possible. Nakobe Dean being out could lead to a Kelce feast.
3. Kareem Hunt 40+ Rushing Yards (-170)
Kareem Hunt didn’t get to enjoy the trophy with the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57, but the early-season signing will have a chance to play a gigantic role in Super Bowl 59. Since Isiah Pacheco came back from his injury, the backfield has remained in Hunt’s hands. The Eagles’ defense is stout, but they’ve given up rushing yards this postseason.
In the Divisional round against the Rams, Philadelphia gave up 108 rushing yards to Kyren Williams. Packers running back Josh Jacobs was able to grind out 81 rushing yards against them in the Wildcard game. Hunt’s rushing yards line sits at 45.5. He’s eclipsed 40 rushing yards in four of his last five games dating back to the regular season.
2. Saquon Barkley Anytime Touchdown (-185)
Super Bowl 59 falls on February 9th. That also happens to be Saquon Barkley’s 28th birthday. The Eagles’ star running back is already on an all-time heater, making a birthday Super Bowl almost guarantees a touchdown. In the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders, Barkley rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns. In the Divisional round, Barkley ran for 205 yards and two touchdowns.
Barkley has gone over 150 rushing yards in three of his last five games. Whatever Barkley wants, he’s gotten this season. The Chiefs defense has allowed a touchdown in 12 of 19 games this season. Philadelphia leans heavily on the run game. Barkley will get his work in the season finale.
1. Chiefs Moneyline (-126)
The Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of the NFL’s first three-peat. It’s hard to bet against Mahomes and Andy Reid at this point. For Reid, it’s another chance at revenge against the team he used to coach for. In Philadelphia, Reid went 130-93-1 but never won a Super Bowl. Now, he has the chance to win a second Super Bowl against his former team.
Mahomes has faced Vic Fangio’s defense eight times in his career. He’s 8-0 while throwing ten touchdowns and two interceptions. The Chiefs are favored by less than a field goal. They won Super Bowl 57 by three points. Although they could stay and continue to win, completing the three-peat could send Reid and Kelce off into the sunset together. It’s tough to bet against the back-to-back champs.
End Of Super Bowl Rant
A parlay of all five picks would come in at +1065, making it $10 to win $106. Super Bowl 59 is the last meaningful football game to responsibly bet on until September; it’s time to make it count. If Mahomes can get the job done, he could enter the GOAT conversation at 29 years old. That would be four championships in seven years as a starter if he can slay the Eagles again.
