Another fun weekend of college basketball is upon us as we settle into February and drive toward March.

Gators Visit Auburn

One of the premier games of the weekend sees Florida traveling to Auburn to take on Bruce Pearl in the jungle. The Gators are still in the mix for a top seed and have a lot to play for this weekend, as does Auburn. I expect this game to be one of the highlighted matchups of the weekend.

Appointment TV. Also, the return of Walter Clayton Jr. will be crucial for the Gators after he missed the Vanderbilt game this past week due to an injury sustained in the loss to Tennessee last Saturday.

Bama Sets Sights on Top Seed

Alabama will face a hot and upstart Arkansas team that has reeled off two road wins in a row and seems to be clicking on all cylinders right now. Alabama boasts one of the top offenses in the nation, and rightfully so; they are playing at a historic pace. Another road win would significantly bolster their chances of securing a one-seed in March.

The Hogs have seen a big change on the defensive end in the last two games. Additionally, Johnell Davis is playing like the standout he was a year ago at Florida Atlantic, which made him one of the top transfer players on the market. Don’t look now, but Coach John Calipari has them playing some inspired basketball.

Cooper Flagg And Duke’s First Test

Duke will travel to Little John Coliseum this weekend, one of the most underrated places to play college basketball. Duke is currently performing at an elite level and showcasing some of the best defenses in the sport. Can Clemson figure things out, end Duke’s winning streak, and knock off the Devils?

Clemson has had its ups and downs as the season has progressed. Earlier this season, they knocked off Kentucky at home, but just this past week, they lost in triple overtime to Georgia Tech. Clemson has been hot and cold, yet with Duke coming to town, there’s no bigger game than this one to right the ship.

Dick Vitale Returns To The Booth

One of the biggest stories this weekend will be the return of Dick Vitale and his incredible journey with cancer, from battling through so many surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy to now sitting down in the booth and calling the game.

This is one of those moments you need to pay attention to and keep your eyes open for because it will be special and emotional.

We are glad to have you back, Dick, with a capital A!

Texas Tech Invades Arizona On Hot Streak

No team in college basketball is playing better basketball right now than the Texas Tech Red Raiders, led by Head Coach Grant McCasland, who is one of the most underrated coaches in the sport.

Arizona, on the other hand, is on a tear as well. Earlier in the season, many thought this would be a team that wouldn’t even compete for an NCAA tournament berth, and now they are tied for first in the Big 12 with Houston at 10-1.

End Of My College Basketball Rant

College basketball

As the season approaches its conclusion and we start seeing teams separate themselves, we will continue to monitor which teams’ seeding improves and which teams will fall off the bubble or gain ground. It’s an interesting weekend ahead of us as this season heads into the final stretch.

It’s the best time of the year and one of the most exciting times if you’re a college basketball fan!
