It’s Royal Rumble season in the WWE, and the road to Wrestlemania kicks off this weekend. This show is stacked, so it’s time for a preview and some predictions.

Motor City Machine Guns Vs. #DIY: Two Out Of Three Falls For The WWE Tag Team Championship

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have found a great role as heels.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have found a great role as heels.

Six months ago, this match wasn’t even a possibility. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano struggled to get #DIY over as babyfaces, and the Machine Guns weren’t in WWE yet. Now #DIY are heels, they’re tag team champions, and they’re in a prominent role on a major PLE.

The two out of three falls stipulation certainly makes this match more interesting. Pretty Deadly, Legado Del Fantasma, and the Street Profits are all on the fringe of this storyline. It seems like this is building to a multi-team match at Wrestlemania. #DIY should steal this one, and carry the titles into Wrestlemania.
Winner: #DIY

Kevin Owens Vs. Cody Rhodes: Ladder Match For The WWE Championship

Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes have been feuding for months, everything is on the line this Saturday.
Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes have been feuding for months, everything is on the line this Saturday.

This story has been wonderfully told, and the blowoff match on Saturday should be a barn-burner. Kevin Owens feels betrayed by his former friend, and his heel turn seems completely justified. He’s been extremely entertaining in this new role, and frankly, he’s breathed new life into Cody’s title reign.

It might be the obvious pick here, but Cody Rhodes is leaving Indy with the WWE title. That being said, a Kevin Owens win would be far more interesting. It’s a ladder match, so Cody doesn’t have to be pinned, and he could chase the title until ‘Mania. Kevin is right, but Cody will be the winner on Saturday.
Winner: Cody Rhodes

Womens’ Royal Rumble Match

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair could both make huge returns at the Royal Rumble.
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair could both make huge returns at the Royal Rumble.

As of this writing, there are 10 women confirmed for the Royal Rumble match. One of the biggest names in the bout is a returning Charlotte Flair. Charlotte has been out of action since December 2023. Her return will surely be a huge deal, which makes her an immediate favorite to win.

One name that has yet to be announced is Becky Lynch. Lynch has been off TV since May 2024, and if promotional material is to be believed, she’ll be back sooner than later. One rumor making the rounds is that Mania could see both of them in a triple-threat match with Rhea Ripley. Charlotte is a huge deal, and it’s highly unlikely that WWE hypes up her return just for a loss.
Winner: Charlotte Flair

Mens’ Royal Rumble Match

Can CM Punk defeat Roman Reigns and 28 other men to win the Royal Rumble?
Can CM Punk defeat Roman Reigns and 28 other men to win the Royal Rumble?

The 2025 mens’ Royal Rumble match is absolutely loaded. CM Punk, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins, are headlining the 30-man match. Any one of those guys could win this, and it would make perfect sense going into Wrestlemania. The beautiful thing about Triple H’s WWE is that he has built the main event scene into a carousel of talent.

John Cena might be the obvious choice here, but that’s why it won’t be him. His story will likely see him scratch and claw to one last Wrestlemania moment. CM Punk is the man who makes the most sense here. He can punch his ticket here, then deal with Rollins, McIntyre, and even Roman Reigns fighting to take it from him. Punk deserves this win, and the crowd will ignite when his music hits to end the show.
Winner: CM Punk
